As I walked through Piazza Mazzini, the main piazza in the charming village of Isnello (in the Madonie Mountains), one day last week, it was close to lunch time and a corner fruit shop was still open. And just above the box of tiny pears was a case of ‘albicocca Isnello’ - apricots from Isnello.

Sicily, Sicily, Sicily I am returning to Sicily mid June and it will almost be the start of the Sicilian summer. I will spend a few weeks at the house in Polizzi in the Madonie Mountains with some short trips to places (both new and familiar) across the island.
