A Trip to Modica: I travelled from Polizzi, in early May, to spend some nights in Modica, in Sicily’s Baroque South East.

Two nights became three and, three was a great introduction to a town once referred to as the “Venice of the South”, famous for chocolate and golden Baroque buildings.

  In the days spent in Polizzi Generosa during spring this year there were moments filled with a stillness: washing draped in the narrow streets; the aged stone of the centuries old buildings; the streets in the quiet hours of the afternoon and the discovery of the silence once again;
