Golden Sicilian Light

Posted by Suzanne on 04 Sep 2015

In Sicily a golden light is often cast over the island from the depths of the silent, rural interior to the magic of the tiny islands dotted off the coastline to the ancient towns.

A few snapshots of golden Sicilian light from The Sicilian House collection of photographs.

No.1

Streams of golden light in an arched street of Randazzo, a medieval lava town on the slopes of Mount Etna 2003.

No.2

Sicily’s King Roger II’s renowned cathedral of golden stone in Cefalu, bathed in warm evening light 2005.

No.3

Evening winter light on a mountain road in the Madonie Mountains outside of Polizzi Generosa 2008.

No.4.

A golden sun hangs above the mythical Egadi Islands 2010.

No.5

Early evening glow over the rooftops of Polizzi Generosa 2005.

No.6

Winter glow outside the ancient town of Castiglione di Sicilia on the slopes of Mount Etna 2004.

Salve,
