Travelling Sicily 2014: Some highlights part one

Posted by Suzanne on 23 Jan 2015

Welcome to our first blog post for 2015.

I look forward very much to more discovery and rediscovery during our 2015 Sicilian travels and sharing it with you. But first, a look at some of the highlights of 2014 taken during the perfumed Sicilian spring and the warm summer.

I will share the highlights in two parts over the next couple of weeks. Part one starts below.

 1.  A hidden terrace, Palazzo Ajutamicristo, Palermo

2.  A country road through the Madonie National Park heading to Castelbuono from Piano Battaglia

3.   A glimpse of Cefalu on the way back to Polizzi after a few hours of quiet rediscovery

4.  The words of Judge Giovanni Falcone, the Anti -Mafia museum, Corleone

" One must keep up one's duty to the end, however difficult the sacrifice maybe to bear, at all costs, because this is the essence of human dignity."

5.  Sicilian spring flowers in the interior, near Corleone

 6.  Artichoke leaves, Petralia Soprana, the Madonie National Park

7.  Young Palermitani, Il Borgo, Palermo

8. Strawberries, Polizzi Generosa

9.  Master Sicilian potter Giovanni d’ Angelo at work in his studio, Polizzi Generosa

10.  Teatro Massimo, Palermo

11.  Pasta topped with baked ricotta and fresh basil at Boccaperto, Linguaglossa, Mount Etna

12.  Palazzo Dato, Palermo

 13.  A perfumed rose in the garden of Il Ristorante I Templari, Polizzi Generosa

14.  Walking with Zia Gina in her secret garden, Polizzi Generosa

15.   Shop front name, Agatino Avolio: a jeweller, Catania

Salve,

Suzanne
